Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy applies to all apps published under CanonForge Apps (currently Seiton, Reel, and QuickShot) and to this website. These apps all run locally on your computer, and we collect only the minimum information needed for licensing and payment to work.

What we do not collect

  • The content you handle with the apps: which icons are in your menu bar, the images you capture, the videos you record, the text that is recognized. All of this stays on your computer.
  • The contents of your screen. System permissions the apps request, such as Screen Recording, are used only to perform the corresponding feature on your computer; what is on your screen never leaves it.
  • Any data used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Information sent when activating or starting a trial

When you activate, when a license is validated, or when you start a trial, the app sends the following to our servers:

  • A hash of the device fingerprint: an irreversible SHA-256 digest computed from information about your computer. We store only this hash and cannot recover your hardware serial number or any identifying information from it.
  • Your license (when activating), the computer's name, its operating system platform and the app version, which help you recognize your devices on the “Manage devices” page.

This information is used to enforce the rules on how many devices each license can be activated on and that each device can use the trial only once, and to issue the license credential that lets you use the app offline.

Information sent when you send feedback

When you send feedback from an app, the app sends our server what you entered: the feedback type, your message, the rating and options, and a reply email address if you choose to leave one. The app version and operating system are sent along with it.

With “Include diagnostic information” checked, the app also sends the system version, interface language, the hash of your device fingerprint, and your license (used only to find the matching license record; it is not stored). You can review what will be sent before submitting, or uncheck the option.

This information is used only to understand and handle what you reported, and to reply if you left an email address. When you write to support@canonforge.top directly, we receive the email itself.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Creem as the Merchant of Record. Your name, email address, billing address and payment details are collected by Creem and handled under its privacy policy. From Creem we receive the order number, email address, amount, currency, payment method category and license key, which we use to issue licenses, provide support and reconcile accounts. We do not receive your full card number.

Server logs

To prevent abuse and diagnose faults, we record the time, result and duration of API requests. IP addresses are stored only as salted hashes, for rate limiting; the platform's own raw access logs are turned off.

Retention

  • Order and license records: kept long term to meet our after-sales and legal obligations.
  • Device records: after a device is unlinked, a record of its deactivation is kept in order to enforce the limit on how often devices can be switched.
  • Request logs and error details: kept for up to 30 days.
  • Feedback records: kept for up to 12 months.

Where data is stored and who it is shared with

Data is stored on Cloudflare's services. Apart from Creem (which processes payments) and Cloudflare (which hosts the service), we do not sell or share your information with any third party, except where required by law.

Feedback and emails you send us are delivered to our work mailbox, which is provided by Google.

Your rights

You can unlink devices at any time on the Manage devices page, and you can email support@canonforge.top to ask to see, correct or delete the records that relate to you. Once a license record is deleted, the corresponding license can no longer be used.
